Rebates
About the Program
On July 1, 2013 East Valley Water District launched a water conservation rebate program for residents within the service area to assist with replacing older fixtures with water efficient models and expanded those programs in June 2015 to further encourage conservation based on the drought emergency.
Funding is approved on an annual basis, and rebates are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. .
In order for items to be eligible for a rebate, purchases must be made after July 1, 2021. All applications must be submitted by June 30, 2022 for processing. It is recommended that you receive rebate approval prior to purchase, to ensure that the requested item meets the program qualification requirements.
Customer account must be in good standing in order to be eligible to participate in any of the District's rebate programs.

Important Processing Information
At this time, the processing period is taking longer than the stated 6-8 weeks due to the increase in program participation. We thank you for your patience as we continue to processes applications as quickly as possible.
Indoor Rebates
By taking simple steps like replacing water-guzzling fixtures, customers can reduce home water consumption by up to 27 gallons per person per day. Other ways customers can save water indoors is by purchasing water-related household appliances that have an ENERGY STAR rating. High-efficiency plumbing fixtures and appliances save about 30% of indoor water use and can yield substantial savings on water and energy bills. You can also research consumer reports - Greener Choices is an information clearinghouse with green ratings of products and appliances including washing machines and dishwashers.
High-Efficiency Toilets
Up to $100, per toilet installed that uses 1.28 gallons or less per flush and is recognized by the WaterSense program.

High-Efficiency Showerhead
Up to $30, per showerhead that uses 2 gallons or less per minute and is recognized by the WaterSense program.

High-Efficiency Washing Machine
Up to $150, for the purchase of a clothes washer with a water factor of 5 or less and is recognized as an EnergyStar appliance.
Outdoor Rebates
Outdoor irrigation accounts for approximately 60% of total water used in our service area. EVWD encourages optimum irrigation efficiency through the use of:
- More low-water-use plants and less turf grass in landscape design
- High-efficiency irrigation technology
- Water-use efficiency surveys
Weather-Based Irrigation Controller
Up to $150, per weather-based irrigation controller installed that automatically adjust irrigation schedules for sprinkler systems in response to changing weather or environmental conditions.

High-Efficiency Sprinkler Nozzles
Up to $4, per High-Efficiency Sprinkler nozzle installed that uses less water per minute than conventional nozzles.

Water Efficient Landscaping
Up to $200, for water efficient landscaping that uses native plants, efficient irrigation systems and other landscaping elements that thrive using less water than traditional grass lawns.

Direct Installation Program- Weather Based Irrigation Controllers
Weather based irrigation controllers (WBIC) use the weather to set your irrigation schedule instead of a traditional sprinkler controller. To help customers be water efficient outdoors, the District will replace your old irrigation controller with a new WBIC through a new direct installation program at no cost to the customer.

You can save water by being water efficient both indoors and out. East Valley Water District is committed to helping our customers save water with providing them with rebates and water use evaluations. At no cost to you, we can show you how to save water by evaluating your home and recommending ways on how to use water more efficiently. Evaluations are available on weekdays by appointment.

What is a Water Use Evaluation?
The home water use evaluation is a free program for all East Valley Water District residential customers. A member from our staff will evaluate your water usage and make recommendations on how to start saving water and be more efficient. To participate, an adult member of the household must be present and able to locate the irrigation system controller.
A water-efficient evaluation includes:
A review of the landscapes conditions, and irrigation equipment.
Suggestions for programming controllers for effective water saving schedules.
Material on water-wise landscaping and available rebates
Offer tips on low water use landscaping, where appropriate
Check your meter to detect leaks.
What are the benefits?
Water evaluations are a great tool to identify ways to conserve water. East Valley Water District staff can also highlight where qualifying rebates may be available. Start saving today and call for your free evaluation.
Before submitting application please read and review the rebate payment forms. A complete W-9 form must be submitted with rebate application. If the District does not receive a direct deposit form a paper check will be mailed to the customer. Failing to meet program requirements can result in delay/denial of rebate application.
Direct Deposit Form
East Valley Water District is pleased to offer rebates through direct deposit. Customers now have the option to receive their rebates by direct deposit to their checking account or have a traditional check mailed. Complete the following application and submit with application to enroll your rebate for direct deposit.

W-9 Form Request
Participants in the East Valley Water District rebate program may qualify for rebates in excess of $600. In order to comply with current Internal Revenue Service requirements, applicants must complete and sign a W-9 form. The W-9 form must be submitted with a rebate application. Customers are only required to complete one W-9 form per calendar year. The District must receive the completed form prior to issuing a rebate check.
