Smart Meter Opt-Out

East Valley Water District upgraded customers’ analog meter to an Advanced Communication Device, commonly known as a Smart Meter, at no-cost to residents.

For customers selecting to voluntarily opt-out of the Smart Meter Program, the District is requiring customers to complete and submit an Acknowledgment and Acceptance of Voluntary Manual Meter Reading Charges Application.

The completion of the application confirms the acceptance of the monthly Meter Read Charge, which is assessed for the manual read of customer's meter to collect water-use information for billing purposes.

Please Note: Customers who opt-out of a Smart Meter program, will have their current meter replaced with a newer analog meter for the purpose of switching out aged devices.
