Constantly looking for ways to maximize District operations and use resources efficiently, EVWD installed a hydroelectric generation system that will convert energy from moving water into renewable electricity. Southern California Edison (SCE) presented the District with a $231,650 grant award for its efforts in supporting distributed energy resources through the Self-Generation Incentive Program (SGIP).

EVWD will have three board seats up for election this November. Community members interested in running are encouraged to visit the San Bernardino County Registrar of Voters offices to request candidate filing documents. Candidate filing begins July 16, 2018 and closes on August 10, 2018 at 5:00 pm.

EVWD has received approval from the San Bernardino County Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO) for the activation of its wastewater treatment authority. This decision allows the District to treat wastewater within its service area at the future Sterling Natural Resource Center (SNRC).

Indian Springs High School volunteers eagerly helped distribute over 300 high efficiency toilets and 175 showerheads to EVWD customers. Reminding the youth that generosity doesn’t go unnoticed, students received a special donation for their volunteer work during an East Valley Water District event held in partnership with EcoTech Services.
